CLAIRETTE ($75)
Clairette is an original design, one-of-a-kind buttonface doll. She is 12" tall and approximately 8" wide. Her body is a subtle claret-colored batik knit, self-lined with muslin for durability. Her faceplate is an appliqued round of cherry print quilter's cotton, as are her feet. Her elegant evening coat is claret Chinese brocade, fully lined in claret satin, and tied at the neck with a gold button and a bow of multi-colored ribbon yarn. Her gorgeous feathery shawl is hand knitted from multi-colored fun fur and finished with a goldtone bead in back. Her shoes are gold and green spandex, with a gold button on each toe. Her little bird face is goldtone polymer clay built onto a heavy 2" square avocado green Dill button, and her eyes are black glass beads. Clairette is firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill and is flat-bottomed so she can stand by herself. Clariette is definitely a night bird, and she's ready for an evening on the town.
