QUEENIE DARLING ($75)
Queenie Darling is an original design, one-of-a-kind buttonface doll. She is 12" tall and approximately 8" wide. Her body is rich purple stretch velveteen, self-lined with muslin for durability, with three small gold buttons down the front. Her faceplate is an appliqued round of gold brocade, as are her feet. Her elegant evening coat is purple Chinese brocade, fully lined in gold striped satin, edged with metallic gold and white trim at the hem, and closed at the neck with a gold button. Her purple "feather" boa is hand knitted from fun fur. Her shoes are purple print knit flecked with gold, with a gold-tone and purple velvet flower button on each toe. Her face is goldtone polymer clay built onto a heavy 2" square tobacco-colored Dill button, and her eyes are black glass beads. Queenie is firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill and is flat-bottomed so she can stand by herself. Queenie is regal, but she's got a heart of gold. She loves opera, a simple cup of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows, Pekingese puppies, and dressing up. She's got a million stories of her own, but she's also a great listener.
