HERBIE GOES HAWAIIAN ($75)
Herbie Goes Hawaiian is an original design, one-of-a-kind buttonface doll. He is 12" tall. His body is striped cotton, self-lined with muslin for durability. His faceplate is an appliqued square of evergreen suedecloth, as are his feet. His shirt is Hawaiian print black cotton, closed with tiny black buttons. His sandals are brown suedecloth with a brown and gold pineapple button on each toe. His face is goldtone polymer clay built onto a heavy 2" round sunset orange Dill button, and his eyes are black glass beads. A lei of silk orchid blossoms and a straw-colored grass skirt complete his vacation look. Herbie is firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill and is flat-bottomed so he can stand by himself. Herbie's bowling team won a trip to the Islands in the Tri-City League finals. Herbie fell in love with the beaches at sunset and went native.
